Time Switches and Thermostats for Heating and Hot Water

Heating and hot water run on schedules, and the timing controls here set when circuits switch on and off. The selection covers DIN rail time switches in one, two and four channel layouts, so a single unit can drive heating, hot water and an immersion circuit on separate programmes. Channels operate independently, letting each load follow its own on and off pattern through the day. Module widths keep the units compact on the rail inside a consumer unit or panel.

Programmes and Settings

The range spans seven day, 24 hour and yearly programmes, along with astro models that track sunrise and sunset times across the year and adjust switching to suit. Several units accept Bluetooth or NFC programming, so settings transfer from a phone rather than being keyed in by hand. Round pattern zone time switches rated 20A with four pin connections drop into immersion and zone wiring for straightforward on and off control. Tamper proof room thermostats in silver, white and black hold a set temperature and resist unwanted adjustment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an astro time switch?
An astro time switch calculates local sunrise and sunset times and adjusts its switching through the year, so outputs follow daylight without manual resetting each season. Sangamo astro models here come in one and two channel DIN rail versions and round pattern zone formats.

What is the difference between a 24 hour and a 7 day time switch?
A 24 hour switch repeats the same on and off pattern every day, which suits a fixed daily routine. A 7 day switch lets you set different times for each day, so weekends can differ from weekdays. Both are stocked across DIN rail and analogue formats.

How are these timers mounted?
The DIN rail models clip onto rail inside a consumer unit or panel and take one, two or four modules of width. Round pattern zone switches and panel timers mount differently. Because these connect to fixed wiring, fitting should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Can I program these without buttons on the unit?
Some models add Bluetooth or NFC programming, so you set schedules from a phone or tap-to-program tool rather than stepping through on-unit buttons. Others use a digital display and keys, and analogue timers use pins or segments around a dial.

What load can these time switches handle?
Ratings shown include 16A DIN rail and analogue timers and 20A round pattern zone switches, with a 110V option among the zone range. Check the rating against the circuit it controls, and have a qualified electrician confirm the connection.
