We stock UMAGE, the Danish design house behind the Asteria pendant and the Eos feather shade, across both lighting and furniture. The range runs from pendants, wall and ceiling lights, portable rechargeable lamps and shades through to oak sideboards, dining and side tables, armchairs, mirrors and wall hooks. Finishes keep to a Scandinavian palette of oak, black, white, brass and steel, with most fittings using integrated LED in warm white.

Danish lighting and furniture from UMAGE

We stock UMAGE, a Copenhagen design house that works across lighting and furniture with the same short palette of materials: FSC certified oak, steel, brass, aluminium and, in the Eos range, goose feather. The pieces are made to be assembled by hand at home, which keeps the packaging flat and the shipping light, and it is part of why the range travels so well.

The lighting

The Asteria pendant is the piece most people arrive for, a layered disc in matt and polished finishes that hides its bulb completely, and it runs from a 15cm Micro up to a 43cm Medium with matching ceiling, wall and table versions. Aluvia and Carmina bring folded aluminium and polypropylene petals, Eos brings feather, and Clava, Acorn and Cannonball cover the smaller glass and steel shades. Asteria Move adds a rechargeable table lamp you can carry between rooms, and the Idea range covers the decorative bulbs to go inside any of them.

The furniture

Audacious and Treasures are the sideboard and cabinet ranges, in oak with fluted fronts and a choice of coloured door panels. A Conversation Piece is the lounge chair and ottoman family, Heart'n'Soul the console and bar tables, and Comfort Circle the extendable dining tables. Heiko and Curious cover dining and stacking chairs, and there is a run of smaller pieces, wall hooks, clothes racks, step stools and mirrors, that share the same oak and steel construction.

Buying UMAGE from us

Most shades are sold separately from their suspension, so a pendant is usually a shade plus a cord set, and we say which on each page. Where a lamp base is sold without a shade we say that too. Delivery is free on UK and worldwide orders over £99, and we price match against any UK retailer stocking the same UMAGE piece.

Is UMAGE a Danish brand?
Yes. UMAGE designs from Copenhagen and its ranges run across both lighting and furniture, using oak, steel, brass, aluminium and feather.

Do UMAGE shades come with the cord set?
Usually not. Most UMAGE shades are sold on their own so you can choose the drop and the finish of the suspension, so a hanging pendant is normally a shade plus a cord set. Each product page says what is in the box.

What is the Asteria pendant?
Asteria is UMAGE's layered disc pendant, built from overlapping leaves that hide the bulb from every angle. It runs from a 15cm Micro to a 43cm Medium, with ceiling, wall, table and floor versions in the same family.

Are the Eos shades real feather?
Yes, the Eos range uses goose feather over a steel frame. It is a light shade and it suits a warm white bulb, which is what we recommend on each page.

Does UMAGE furniture need assembling?
Most of it does, and it is designed for it. The pieces ship flat with the fixings included and the assembly times we list run from about five minutes for a chair to twenty for a table.
