Headphones
Our range of headphones covers closed-back over-ear models for DJ monitoring, studio work and everyday listening. The choice comes down to how much isolation you need from the room, how they sit over a long session, and whether the source can drive them properly. Found it cheaper elsewhere? We will match the price.

DJ or studio headphones?
They look similar and are built for different jobs. DJ headphones prioritise isolation and level so you can hear a cue over a loud room, and they usually have swivelling earcups for single-ear monitoring plus a coiled cable that will not snag on the mixer. Studio headphones prioritise an even response so that what you hear reflects what is actually recorded, which means they often sound less exciting and more honest. If you mix music, buy studio. If you beat match in a club, buy DJ.
Closed or open back?
A closed back seals the driver behind a solid shell, which keeps outside noise out and your sound in. That is what you want on a stage, in a booth or anywhere a microphone is recording nearby. An open back lets air move freely, which usually gives a more natural and spacious sound, but it leaks in both directions, so it suits quiet listening at home and nothing else. Everything in this range is closed back for that reason.
Impedance and driving them properly
Impedance is quoted in ohms, and it decides how much voltage the source needs to reach a decent level. Anything around 32 ohm will run happily from a phone, a laptop or a mixer headphone output. Higher impedance models, 150 ohm and above, are designed for a dedicated headphone amplifier or a mixer with a proper output stage, and they will sound thin and quiet plugged into a phone. Match the headphone to what will actually drive it.
Comfort over a long session
Weight, clamping force and earcup depth matter more than any specification once you are three hours in. Look for adjustable, well padded headbands and earcups deep enough that your ear does not press against the driver. Replaceable earpads are worth having, because pads are always the first thing to wear out and replacing them costs a fraction of new headphones.
Cables, jacks and adaptors
Coiled cables suit DJ and studio use because they take up slack without dangling into the equipment. A detachable cable is a real advantage, since cable failure is the single most common reason headphones stop working. Most models terminate in a 3.5mm jack with a screw-on 6.35mm adaptor for mixers and interfaces, so check the adaptor is included and keep it with the headphones rather than in a drawer.
Care, spares and safe levels
Store headphones with the cable loosely coiled rather than wrapped tight around the cups, as that strain is what breaks the wire at the plug. Wipe pads down after use and replace them when the foam compresses. On levels, prolonged listening at high volume can cause permanent hearing damage, and headphones make it easy to do without noticing. Set the level so you can still hold a conversation, and take a break every hour or so.
