Steady, regulated power

A power supply takes the mains and delivers a clean, regulated output that sensitive kit can rely on. This range is built around low-voltage drivers for LED work and a fast charger for everyday devices, so a lighting run or a desk full of phones and tablets has a dependable source behind it. The aim is consistent output that holds steady under load.

12V DC LED drivers

The core of the range is a set of 12V DC LED drivers in 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A ratings. Each is an indoor unit with a 1.2m hard-wired lead, made for running LED strip and other low-voltage fittings. Stepping mains down to a regulated 12V, they give LED lighting the stable supply it needs to run evenly and avoid flicker.

Matching a driver to the load

The right driver depends on how much current your fittings draw. Add up the demand of the LED strip or fixtures on the run, then choose a rating with a little headroom above that figure so the supply is not pushed to its limit. The 1.2m lead suits a tidy indoor install close to the fittings it powers.

Indoor use and the lead

These drivers are indoor units, so they are made for dry, sheltered positions rather than outdoor or damp settings. The 1.2m hard-wired lead is a fixed connection, which keeps the wiring neat and removes a plug-and-socket joint that could work loose over time. Allow for that fixed length when planning where the driver sits in relation to the strip or fittings it feeds.

Fast charging

Alongside the LED drivers sits a 65W GaN charger with two USB-C and two USB-A ports. GaN construction keeps it compact for the power it delivers, and the four ports cover phones, tablets and laptops together, which makes it a practical single charger for a desk or a travel bag. Having both USB-C and USB-A on hand means newer and older leads both have a home. Free delivery worldwide on all orders over £99.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pick the right LED driver rating?
Add up the wattage of the LED load, then choose a 12V driver that comfortably exceeds it. The LYYT drivers come in 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A, which at 12V give roughly 24W, 36W, 48W and 60W of headroom. Leaving some spare capacity helps the driver run cooler and last longer.

Are these power supplies for indoor or outdoor use?
The LYYT 12V DC LED drivers are indoor units, so site them in a dry, ventilated spot away from damp. They are not rated for exposed outdoor positions. Keep them clear of insulation and other heat traps so air can move around the casing.

Can I wire a 12V driver into a fixed installation?
These drivers have a 1.2m hard-wired lead for connecting into a low-voltage setup. Where the mains side ties into fixed wiring, we recommend using a qualified electrician to make the connection safely and confirm the supply side is correctly protected.

What does the 65W GaN charger offer?
The Mercury 65W GaN charger has two USB-C and two USB-A ports, so it can run several devices at once from a single block. GaN technology lets it pack high output into a compact body, which suits charging phones, tablets and many laptops at speed without a bulky brick.
