B.lux ranges we stock

Every product on this page is made by B.lux, so you can light a dining room, a hallway and a landing with pieces from the same maker. Among the ranges we stock are Anvil and Solid, along with Blux System W, Bimu, Castle C and Lite Hole S. Stay within a range for pieces that match, or mix ranges for contrast.

We stock pendant lights, linear pendant lights, wall lights and ceiling lights, and many come with integrated LED. A few products here are the parts a lighting system needs, rather than lights in their own right, so if you choose a system light, check its product page for the parts it calls for.

The story behind B.lux

B.lux is based in Gizaburuaga, in Bizkaia in the Basque Country of Spain, and works from a site surrounded by nature. Its approach brings innovation and tradition together. Design sits at the core of how the company sees itself, and it trusts outside designers to create its ranges. Among the designers behind the lights we stock are David Abad, Stone Designs, Carrasquet, María Güell & Carrasquet, Werner Aisslinger and Josep Lluís Xuclà.

B.lux makes its products using recycled material, and they can be recycled in turn. The electricity it runs on comes from renewable sources. Its lights are distributed in many countries, and we are glad to stock them.

B.lux pendant and ceiling lights

We stock many B.lux pendant lights, the natural choice over a dining table or a stairwell, where the fitting itself becomes a feature of the room. Hang a pendant so it pools light on the table without blocking the view across it, and check the drop on the product page against your ceiling height.

We also stock linear pendant lights, which spread light along a long table, an island or a desk, so you need not line up a row of separate pendants. Centre the light over the table, running along its length. For a hallway, a landing or a lower ceiling, choose a ceiling light to keep headroom clear; we stock many.

B.lux wall lights and more

We stock many B.lux wall lights for stairs and the space either side of a bed, where a fitting on the wall frees up the bedside table. Placed either side of a sofa or a fireplace, they balance a room with light at eye level.

A few floor lamps sit alongside them, ready to light a reading chair. There are some table lamps too, for a desk or a sideboard. A few track spotlights let you aim light at a picture or a worktop. A few designs here are made for outdoor use. Check the rating against water on the product page, and choose a higher rating for a spot open to driving rain.

LED or bulb in a B.lux light

Many of the lights here have integrated LED, with the light source built into the fitting, so there is no bulb to buy or fit. Many others take a bulb, which lets you pick the brightness and warmth yourself and change your mind later. We stock many that take a standard large screw-cap bulb, which is easy to find.

Colour temperature sets the mood. At 2700K, light has a soft, warm glow for living rooms and bedrooms, while 3000K is a touch crisper for kitchens, dining tables and desks. We stock many lights at 2700K and many at 3000K. If your light takes a bulb, the bulb you fit sets the colour temperature, so look for the same figure on its box.

Dimming options for B.lux lights

Many of the lights here are dimmable, and the method decides which switch or control you need. We stock many that dim by DALI, which suits a home or office wired for DALI lighting control, where an installer can group lights and set their levels. We also stock many that dim by push, using a simple retractive switch: a short press turns the light on or off, and a longer press dims it.

A few dim with a phase-cut dimmer, the familiar kind fitted in place of a light switch. If a light takes a bulb, the bulb must be dimmable too, and where the product page lists no dimming method, use a standard switch.

B.lux colours and finishes

We stock B.lux lights in black, white, brass, beige, grey, red and wood tones. Black gives crisp contrast against pale walls, while white blends into a white ceiling and lets the light take the lead. Brass adds warmth beside timber and stone, beige and grey are calm neutrals, red brings a confident note of colour, and wood tones soften a plain room.

Some designs come in brown, an earthy shade for a warmer room. A few come in blue, for a cooler accent. A few come in bronze, a deep metallic tone. To tie a scheme together, match the finish to your switches and door handles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do B.lux lights come with bulbs?

Many of the B.lux lights we stock have integrated LED, so the light source is built in and there is no bulb to buy. Many others take a bulb, so check the product page to see whether a bulb is included and which cap it needs.

Which B.lux lights can be dimmed, and how?

Many are dimmable; check the product page for the method before you choose a switch. We stock many that dim by DALI, for wired lighting control, and many that dim from a simple push switch. A few dim with a standard phase-cut dimmer.

Which B.lux lights are made for outdoors?

A few of the lights we stock here are made for outdoor use. Look for the rating against water and dust on the product page, and pick a higher rating for a spot that takes the full force of the weather.

What else do I need for a B.lux system light?

A system light needs the parts its system calls for, so read its product page to see what it requires before you order. We stock a few of these parts, and we are happy to help you match them to your light.

Where is B.lux based, and who designs its lights?

B.lux is based in Gizaburuaga in Bizkaia, in the Basque Country of Spain, where it works from a site surrounded by nature. It gives the design of its ranges to independent designers, and the lights we stock include designs by David Abad, Stone Designs, Carrasquet, María Güell & Carrasquet, Werner Aisslinger and Josep Lluís Xuclà.

Should I choose 2700K or 3000K for a B.lux light?

Choose 2700K for the warm, cosy glow you want in a living room or bedroom, and 3000K for a slightly crisper warm white over a kitchen worktop or dining table. Check the product page for the colour temperature; many of the B.lux lights we stock give 2700K and many give 3000K.

Which B.lux light suits a dining table or kitchen island?

For a long table or island, a linear pendant light spreads light along its length, and we stock many. For a round table, hang a pendant light centred above it so the light pools on the surface.
