Description

The Solid F 240 is a tall cylinder LED floor lamp from our Solid range: a slim upright stem 4.5cm across on a round disc base, standing 240cm tall and 50cm across overall. A lit section 196cm long runs down the stem, so the light reads as one clean line rather than a bulb behind a shade. The light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 35W and gives 5110 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps skin tones, wood and fabrics looking natural. It comes in four finishes: Black, Brass, White and Aluminium.

At 240cm tall, this is a floor lamp for a living room with a generous ceiling height, so measure yours before you choose it. It sits well in a corner or beside a sofa, where the tall line of light falls across the nearby wall and lifts the whole room. At 5110 lumens it gives far more than a soft glow, and because it is dimmable you can bring it down for a quieter evening. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. The choice of Black, Brass, White or Aluminium lets you match it to the other metalwork in the room, or keep it quiet against a pale wall.

The design is by Josep Lluís Xuclà, and it is pared right back: one round stem, one disc base and the LED built into the stem along its length. It runs on mains power at 230V and is a Class I fitting. Before you order, check two things: the lamp is 240cm tall, so your ceiling needs to clear it comfortably, and it is 50cm across at the base, so give it a clear patch of floor where it will not be knocked. Our photographs show the black version.
