Polished Brass Flat Plate Switches and Sockets

Polished brass flat plate fittings sit flush against the wall with a bright, golden face that suits period rooms, traditional interiors and warmer schemes. Because every plate shares the same finish, you can wire a whole room around one look rather than mixing odd faces, from the sockets behind a desk to the switches by the door.

The range starts with 13A switched sockets in single and double gang, in double pole forms, including versions with twin earths and ones built with USB charging. USB options include a quad USB charger socket, so phones and tablets top up without needing a separate adaptor in the way. Many sockets are offered with a choice of black or white insert to set the contrast against the brass, and several come as screwless plates for a cleaner edge with no visible fixings.

For control, there are 10AX two-way switches in two, four and six gang, alongside a two-way toggle switch and a one gang two-way intelligent dimmer rated 10 to 200W for smooth adjustment of compatible lighting. Beyond power and lighting, the same polished brass face carries data and media plates: RJ45 network outlets, BT master telephone sockets, F-type satellite TV outlets in isolated and non-isolated forms, and a screened diplex outlet for TV with FM and DAB. That spread lets you keep network points, aerial feeds and wall switches matching across a single space.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does flat plate mean for polished brass fittings?
Flat plate describes a low-profile faceplate that sits close to the wall with clean edges, rather than a raised or bevelled front. In polished brass it gives a slim, bright golden face that reads neatly against the wall on sockets, switches and data plates alike.

Can I match sockets, switches and TV outlets in the same finish?
Yes. The polished brass range covers 13A sockets, two-way switches, a toggle switch and an intelligent dimmer, plus RJ45 network and satellite TV plates, so power, lighting control and media points can all carry the same face in one room.

What is the difference between black and white inserts?
The insert is the moulded part around the socket pins or rockers. A black insert gives a stronger contrast against the brass for a bolder look, while a white insert keeps things lighter and more discreet. Both options appear across the sockets in this range.

What does screwless mean?
A screwless plate uses a clip-on outer cover that hides the fixing screws, leaving an uninterrupted face. Several polished brass sockets are offered in screwless form for a tidier finish.

Do I need an electrician to fit these?
Mains switches and sockets connect to live wiring, so installation should be left to a qualified electrician. The plates themselves are standard fittings designed to sit flush once wired in.
