Description
The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur unit features a polished brass flat plate in premium-grade steel with a matching fuse holder and integrated switch. The 2.5mm projection from the wall makes this one of the lowest-profile fused spurs available, sitting almost flush with the plaster surface once installed. The unit is rated at 13A and complies with BS 1363-4 safety standards.
Designed for fixed appliance installation in kitchens, utility rooms, workshops and offices, the fused spur provides a switched and fused connection point for hardwired equipment such as boilers, cooker hoods, under-cabinet lighting, hand dryers and hot water dispensers. The switch allows the appliance to be isolated without needing to access the consumer unit, and the 13A fuse provides additional circuit protection tailored to the connected load.
The polished brass finish is achieved through lacquered plating over the steel baseplate, giving a warm metallic appearance that pairs with traditional, classical and warm contemporary interiors. The built-in gasket behind the faceplate protects against dust ingress from behind the plate, keeping the switch mechanism clean in dusty or high-traffic environments. Installation requires a minimum 25mm back box depth, and the earth terminal accepts standard single-core cable terminations.

Frequently Asked
What appliances is a fused spur used for?
Fused spurs provide a switched and fused connection point for hardwired fixed appliances such as boilers, cooker hoods, under-cabinet lighting, extractor fans, hand dryers, hot water dispensers and electric towel rails. The 13A rating handles loads up to 3,120W at 230V.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 25mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The 2.5mm faceplate projection means the total depth from the wall surface is approximately 27.5mm once fitted.
Does the fused spur have a neon indicator?
No. This model does not include a neon indicator light to show when the switch is in the on position. The switch position itself is visible on the faceplate.
Is the polished brass finish lacquered?
Yes. Knightsbridge polished brass finishes are lacquer-plated over a steel baseplate to maintain the brass appearance and prevent tarnishing. The lacquer can be wiped clean with a soft dry cloth but should not be polished with abrasive cleaners.
