Description

The Auravel is a 1100mm diameter tiered chandelier built from four descending rings of vertical alabaster panels, suspended from a matte black metal frame. Forty-eight E14 lamp positions sit behind the alabaster (bulbs sold separately), with the stone itself acting as the diffuser. The fitting measures 1000mm from the ceiling rose to the lowest tier and uses a black drop rod with a domed canopy for ceiling fixing.

At over a metre across and a metre tall, the Auravel is sized for double-height entrance halls, stairwells with a galleried landing, formal dining rooms with a long table, and hospitality spaces such as hotel lobbies and restaurant atriums. The four-tier stepped silhouette reads from below as a cascading drum, so the chandelier works particularly well centred over a round or oval dining table where the underside is the most visible plane.

Each alabaster panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster and shows its own veining, density variation and subtle tonal shifts across the stone. When the 48 E14 lamps are lit, light passes through the panels and reveals the mineral structure, producing a warm diffused glow rather than direct downward light. The matte black framework and stainless steel structural components frame the stone in a defined outline, and the dark finish keeps the metalwork visually quiet against the glowing alabaster.

The fitting carries a 2-year warranty. Given the diameter, drop and 48-lamp wiring loom, installation by a qualified electrician with appropriate access equipment is required, and the ceiling fixing point must be rated for the assembled weight.

What ceiling height does the Auravel need?

The chandelier itself is 1000mm tall before the drop rod, with an overall diameter of 1100mm. As a guide, allow at least 3m of ceiling height for a hallway or open room, and 2.7m above a dining table where the lowest tier sits roughly 750-800mm above the table surface. It is best suited to double-height halls, stairwells and formal dining rooms.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The fitting takes 48 x E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs. Bulbs are sold separately. Warm white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K give the closest match to the warm glow shown when the alabaster is illuminated.

Does each alabaster panel look the same?

No. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, density and tonal variation differ between panels. Once lit, this variation becomes part of the visual character of the chandelier rather than a defect.

Is professional installation required?

Yes. Given the 1100mm diameter, the assembled weight of stone and steel, and the 48-lamp wiring loom, the Auravel should be installed by a qualified electrician. The ceiling fixing point must be structurally rated to carry the full weight of the fitting.
