Our Niori designer chandelier range

Our Niori designer chandelier range spans alabaster, crystal, metal and glass, all produced under our own brand. The range covers tiered and branched forms for dining rooms and foyers, linear bar chandeliers for longer tables, and oversized sculptural pieces for stairwells and double-height spaces. We design the shapes, select the materials and finish each piece in-house, so the design language stays consistent whether you are buying a single dining chandelier or specifying lighting across a whole project.

Alabaster, crystal and metal: materials in our range

Much of our designer chandelier range uses natural alabaster as the primary material, paired with brushed brass, matt black or soft white metalwork. Alabaster is a slightly translucent natural stone that transmits light through its mineral structure, producing a warm diffused glow with visible veining behind the light source. The rest of the range covers faceted crystal (refractive, sparkling output suited to formal dining rooms and foyers), solid metal frames in brushed brass and blackened steel, and clear or fluted glass for the cleaner contemporary pieces. Every material is real: real natural stone, real cut crystal, real metalwork. Nothing in the range is moulded acrylic dressed as stone or printed film dressed as crystal. Modern and contemporary chandelier styles

Our designer chandeliers include modern and contemporary forms across the full range. The modern pieces lean architectural: linear bar chandeliers, flat disc tiers, clean cylinder drops in alabaster, and minimal brass or blackened steel frames with no decorative shaping. The contemporary chandeliers carry slightly more movement: branched arms with alabaster cups, cascading crystal in updated silhouettes, and tiered forms that read as design objects rather than period reproductions.

The distinction matters for fit. Modern designer chandeliers sit well in newer architecture, open-plan kitchens and dining spaces, and renovated period properties where the rest of the interior reads contemporary. Contemporary chandeliers cover a wider tonal range and work in transitional interiors where traditional architectural detail (cornicing, panelling, deeper colour palettes) is still present but the furniture and finishes are current. Both registers share our material approach and our finishing standards; the choice is aesthetic rather than structural.

Sizing for dining rooms, foyers and stairwells

For designer dining chandeliers hung over a table, the fixture diameter should sit roughly half to two-thirds the width of the table, with the lowest point 75–85cm (30–34 inches) above the table surface. A 1.8m dining table works well with a chandelier between 90cm and 1.2m wide; longer linear chandeliers suit tables over 2.2m.

For designer foyer chandeliers (the US term; entryway or hallway chandeliers for UK readers), the rule of thumb is to add the room's length and width in feet, then use that figure in inches as a target diameter. A 12ft × 14ft foyer suggests roughly a 26-inch (66cm) fixture. Mounting height should leave at least 2.1m (7ft) of clearance from the floor to the lowest point of the chandelier.

For stairwells and double-height spaces, vertical chandeliers and cascading designs work better than wide tiered forms, since the eye reads the piece from multiple floor levels. Position the chandelier so the lowest point is visible from the upper landing and clears head height on the staircase below. We can advise on specific dimensions for a room on request.

Care and cleaning for designer chandeliers

Care depends on the material. For crystal chandeliers, dust the drops regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a soft cloth dampened with a 50/50 solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol, working drop by drop with the power switched off and the bulbs cool. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the fixture, which can leave residue at the fittings.

For alabaster chandeliers, dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid feather dusters, soap-based cleaners, alcohol sprays and glass cleaners; these can erode the stone's natural finish over time. Light marks come off with a soft cloth dampened with plain water; deeper marks respond to a small amount of pH-neutral stone cleaner. Do not apply the alcohol-and-water solution used for crystal to alabaster components.

For brass, blackened steel and other metalwork, a soft dry cloth is sufficient for routine care. Avoid metal polishes on lacquered finishes, which can strip the protective coating. We include material-specific care instructions with every chandelier.
