Description

The Zareon Small is a 1m curved pendant light built from carved sections of natural Spanish alabaster, joined into a continuous S-shaped profile and held by two brushed brass cradles. An integrated 30W LED runs through the stone at 3000K, turning the alabaster itself into the diffuser and casting warm soft-white light along the full length of the curve.

Designed for long dining tables, kitchen islands, breakfast bars and reception desks, the horizontal format throws light across a surface rather than down onto a single point. The two brushed brass canopies suspend the fitting on slim cables with a 1500mm drop, adjustable on installation, so the light can be set 700-900mm above a worktop or dining table depending on ceiling height.

Each 100mm-diameter alabaster section is cut and shaped so the veining flows along the curve, with the brushed brass straps acting as the only visible hardware against the stone. The 100mm section depth gives the fitting a substantial horizontal presence without bulk above the table, and the natural variation in the alabaster means the veining pattern differs between individual pieces.

The brushed brass finish on the cradles and canopies pairs the stone with a warm metallic accent that suits both contemporary and transitional interiors. The minimal two-point suspension keeps the visual weight on the alabaster itself, with the cables and canopies receding once the light is installed at height.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1500mm cable drop is adjustable on installation. Over a dining table or kitchen island the fitting typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which works comfortably in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. Cables can be shortened during fitting for lower ceilings.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each section is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated rather than a replaceable bulb. It is rated at 30W on 230V mains with a 3000K warm-white colour temperature, and is covered by the 2-year warranty listed in the Specification tab.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
