Outdoor Ground Lights

What the ground light range covers

Recessed ground lights set flush into the surface to wash light up a wall or mark out a route underfoot. The range covers walkover fittings for paths and decking and tougher driveover units built to take vehicle weight, alongside longer landscape bars for borders. Materials run from stainless steel and steel to resin and metal, in finishes such as grey and stainless steel, with a few in black and chrome. Outputs span small accent points up to 45W, in warm white 3000K and cool white 4000K.

Walkover, driveover and landscape types

Walkover fittings suit paths, patios and decking where they take foot traffic, while driveover models are made for drives and other spots that vehicles cross. Deck light kits give a run of small, low-output points for steps and borders, and the longer landscape bars cast a broader band of light along a wall or planting. Choose warm white for a softer garden feel or cool white for a crisper, more functional look.

Weather rating and recessing

These fittings sit in the ground, so almost all carry higher weather ratings, from IP65 through IP67 and up to IP68 for buried, wet conditions. Set each fitting into a prepared recess so the top sits flush with the surface, allowing for drainage beneath as the maker directs. Space accent points evenly along a path to mark the route, and position uplights close to a wall or planting to graze light upward. A driveover fitting must be rated and seated to handle the load it will carry.

Choosing the right fitting

Start with where it goes: a path or deck points to a walkover fitting, a drive needs a driveover unit, and a border may suit a landscape bar. Decide whether you want to mark a route or wash a surface, then pick a finish in stainless steel, grey or black to sit quietly in the ground. Match the weather rating to how wet and exposed the spot is, choosing the higher figures for fully buried positions. Free delivery worldwide on all orders over £99.
