Description

The Knightsbridge LDGL6 is a 6W LED recessed ground light built around a 304 stainless steel bezel, an aluminium housing and a plastic mounting sleeve. The integrated COB LED produces 405 lumens at 3000K warm white with a 95-degree beam angle, casting a wide pool of light upwards from ground level. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making the fitting suitable for outdoor installation in driveways, pathways, patios and garden borders.

Designed for flush-mounting in tarmac, concrete, block paving or resin-bound surfaces, the ground light requires a 108mm cut-out diameter (114mm if using the supplied mounting sleeve). The 70mm recessed depth accommodates the housing and the 2m outdoor flex that comes factory-fitted. Once installed the bezel sits just 4mm proud of the surface, reducing trip hazards while maintaining visibility of the light source. The fitting is rated to support vehicular loads up to 800kg at speeds of 5mph when correctly installed in a solid substrate, allowing it to be placed in driveways where cars park or manoeuvre at low speed.

The 304-grade stainless steel bezel resists corrosion in wet and salty environments better than mild steel or lower-grade alloys, making the fitting suitable for coastal installations and areas subject to de-icing salt in winter. The clear diffuser sits behind the bezel and protects the COB LED while allowing most of the 475-lumen light source output to pass through. The LED is non-dimmable and runs directly on 230V 50Hz mains without requiring an external driver, simplifying installation. The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours indicates the LED will maintain at least 70% of its initial brightness after approximately 5.7 years of continuous operation.

Can this be driven over by a car?

Yes, when installed correctly in tarmac or concrete using the mounting sleeve, the LDGL6 is rated to support loads up to 800kg at speeds of 5mph. This covers most domestic vehicles parking or manoeuvring slowly. It is not suitable for higher speeds or heavier vehicles such as delivery lorries.

What cut-out size is needed for installation?

The cut-out diameter is 108mm if installing without the mounting sleeve, or 114mm if using the sleeve. The recessed depth required is 70mm to accommodate the housing and wiring connections.

Is the LED dimmable?

No. The integrated COB LED runs directly on 230V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches or controls.

How long will the LED last?

The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours means the LED should maintain at least 70% of its initial 405-lumen output after approximately 5.7 years of continuous operation, or much longer if operated on a timer or dusk-to-dawn sensor.
