Joining screens, players and audio over HDMI

HDMI carries video and sound down one lead, but real setups rarely line up neatly. A player might sit far from the screen, an older device might use a different socket, or one source might need to reach several displays. The adapters here bridge those gaps so a signal gets from one box to another.

Matrix and multi-port switches

A switch lets several sources share fewer screens, or sends one source to more than one display. The range covers HDMI matrix switches in 4x4 and 4x2 layouts and multi-port switches, some with an IR remote so you can change the active input from the sofa rather than at the unit.

Repeaters and extenders for distance

HDMI signals weaken over a long lead. A repeater boosts the signal to hold a clean picture across a longer run, while an extender over Ethernet carries the link much further again, up to 100m, using network cable between the two ends.

Converters for mixed connections

Older and newer gear often do not share the same socket. The converters here move between HDMI and VGA, Scart, composite RCA and DisplayPort, so a legacy player or projector can join a current screen, or the other way round. They suit setups where the source and display were never meant to connect directly.

Couplers and plug adapters

Smaller parts handle the fiddly joins. Couplers link two leads into a longer run, a right-angle adapter eases a cable into a tight space behind a wall-mounted screen, and a micro plug adapter steps an HDMI socket down to a smaller device.

Picking the right adapter

Start from the sockets on your gear and what you need the signal to do: switch sources, stretch a run, or convert between formats. Match the adapter to that job and the connectors at each end. Free UK delivery over £99, worldwide shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these support 4K video?

Several do. The HDMI 2.0 matrix switches, the DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and the extender kit are 4K rated, while some compact switches and the older-format converters work at Full HD 1080p. Each product title states its resolution so you can match it to your source and screen.

How do I send HDMI over a long distance?

For longer runs, the 4K HDMI extender over Ethernet sends signal up to 100m using network cable, and a repeater holds a 4K 60Hz signal at 10m. These avoid the signal drop you can get from a single long HDMI lead.

Can I connect older equipment with VGA, Scart or RCA?

Yes. The range includes HDMI to VGA and VGA to HDMI adapters, HDMI to Scart and Scart to HDMI converters, plus composite RCA to HDMI upscaling. These bridge older sources and displays to modern HDMI kit.

How do I get audio out of an HDMI signal?

The 4K HDMI audio extractor splits sound out to Toslink optical and 3.5mm, and the 4x4 matrix switch includes audio extraction. Both let you route HDMI audio to a separate amplifier or sound system.

Can I switch between several HDMI sources on one screen?

Yes. The 3-port switches let you feed several sources into a single display and swap between them, with an IR remote version for switching from your seat. The matrix switches route multiple sources to multiple screens at once.
