Description

The AV:Link right-angle HDMI adapter converts a straight HDMI cable to a 90-degree orientation, with a male HDMI plug on one end and a female HDMI socket on the other. The plug end sits at a right angle to the socket end, allowing HDMI cables to run flat against a wall or downwards from a tight-clearance connection point instead of projecting straight out.

Designed for wall-mounted TVs, media players installed in confined cabinet spaces, and equipment racks where standard straight HDMI cables would protrude too far from the back panel, the adapter reduces the clearance needed behind the connected device by routing the cable parallel to the surface. Both connectors carry gold-plated pins to maintain signal integrity across the full HDMI bandwidth, supporting 4K video, multi-channel audio and HDCP copy protection without signal degradation.

The compact adapter body measures approximately 40mm long from plug tip to socket opening, with a molded plastic shell that protects the internal wiring from repeated connection cycles. The right-angle orientation bends the cable run downwards when the plug is inserted horizontally, or sideways when inserted vertically, giving flexibility to route cables in whichever direction the installation demands. The adapter works with all standard HDMI cable types including High Speed HDMI and HDMI with Ethernet variants.

Frequently Asked

Does this support 4K and HDR video?

Yes. The adapter maintains full HDMI signal integrity including 4K resolution, HDR metadata, multi-channel audio and HDCP copy protection. It works as a passive connector with no active electronics that would limit bandwidth.

Which direction does the cable exit?

The HDMI plug end sits at 90 degrees to the socket end. When the plug is inserted into a device, the socket opening points perpendicular to the plug direction, allowing the connected cable to run flat against a wall or downwards depending on how the adapter is oriented.

Will it work with HDMI cables that have bulky connector housings?

The adapter works with standard HDMI cables. Very thick or over-moulded cable connectors may be too large to fit the socket opening — measure the cable connector width before ordering if the cable housing is unusually bulky.

Can it be used in both directions?

Yes. HDMI is bidirectional for standard video and audio signals. The adapter can convert a source device output or a display device input depending on which end you connect to which equipment.
