Stratalux LED Stacked Alabaster Column Floor Lamp - Matt Black

The Stratalux is a 1580mm column floor lamp built from a vertical stack of alternating alabaster spheres and flattened discs, set on a 280mm matt black metal base. An integrated 3000K LED runs through the column, lighting each piece of natural Spanish alabaster from within so the stone itself becomes the diffuser. The result is a totem-like sculptural form that throws warm ambient light from floor to head height.

Designed as decorative ambient lighting rather than directed task light, the Stratalux suits living rooms, lounges, hotel lobbies, gallery spaces and transitional zones such as the corner of a hallway or the edge of an open-plan room. At 1580mm tall it sits taller than a typical reading floor lamp and reads as a piece of lit sculpture, working alongside other lighting rather than as a sole source. The compact 280mm circular base keeps the footprint small enough to slot beside a sofa, console or armchair.

Each alabaster element is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the dark grey veining, cloud-like shading and translucency vary between every piece in the stack and between individual lamps. When unlit the column reads as a soft creamy white with subtle marbled markings; switched on, the stone glows warm and the veining becomes more pronounced where the light passes through thinner sections. The solid copper internal structure and matt black plinth give the lamp a substantial, grounded stance.

Is the Stratalux dimmable?

The lamp uses an integrated LED on 230V mains at 3000K warm white. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer module, so please contact us before pairing it with a dimmer to confirm suitability for your setup.

Does each lamp look the same?

No. Every alabaster sphere and disc is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, cloud-like markings and translucency differ between individual pieces and between lamps. This natural variation is a feature of the material rather than a defect, and becomes most visible when the lamp is switched on.

What kind of light does it give?

Stratalux is decorative ambient lighting. The 3000K LED is diffused through the alabaster column, casting a soft warm glow rather than directional task light. It works best alongside other lighting in a room and is well suited to evening use in lounges, bedrooms and lobbies.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the alabaster gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble.
