The screws that hold the plate on
Electrical screws are the small fixings that hold an accessory plate onto its back box. They sit at the corners of sockets, switches and faceplates, drawing the plate down square against the wall so it sits flat with no gap behind it. Having the right ones to hand means a fit-out goes back together cleanly rather than hunting for odd screws at the end of the job, when a single missing fixing can hold up a whole room.
M3.5 countersunk thread
These are M3.5 countersunk screws, the common thread for wiring accessories, so they suit the fixing holes on standard back boxes. The countersunk head pulls down level with the plate face for a flush finish that does not catch a hand or a cloth.
Raised and flat heads
The range comes in raised head and flat head patterns. A flat head sits level with the plate, while a raised head gives a slightly domed top that some fittings are designed around. Matching the head to the accessory keeps the front looking right rather than leaving the screws standing proud or sunk too far.
Lengths and finishes
Lengths run from 35mm through 50mm to 75mm, so you can reach the back box on shallow and deeper mounts alike. The longer ones earn their place on a recessed or packed-out box where a short screw would not bite. Finishes cover nickel, brass and black to line up with common plate styles, whether the accessory is bright, warm-toned or dark.
Supplied in packs
Each option comes in a 100-pack, which is handy for a full fit-out or simply topping up the kit so the right screws are always there. A qualified electrician handles fitting where wiring is involved. Free UK delivery over £99, worldwide shipping.
