Description

These M3.5 x 50mm flat head countersunk screws are machine screws designed for electrical installation work, supplied in packs of 100. The 3.5mm diameter thread pairs with the fixing holes in Knightsbridge screwless socket sub-frames, flat plate accessories and similar electrical fittings where the screw head must sit flush or below the mounting surface.

The countersunk head tapers at an 82-degree angle, allowing it to sit flush with the surface once driven home. This is critical for screwless installations where the cover plate clips over the sub-frame — any raised screw heads would prevent the plate from fitting correctly. The 50mm length provides sufficient thread engagement for mounting accessories to standard 25-35mm back boxes through plasterboard or onto solid wall surfaces.

The nickel-plated finish provides corrosion resistance in indoor environments and a neutral metallic appearance that blends with chrome, stainless and brushed finishes commonly found on electrical accessories. Each screw is threaded along its full shank, allowing adjustment of how far the screw protrudes into the back box. The pack of 100 suits professional electricians, facilities managers and trade installers working on multi-room socket and switch installations.

Frequently Asked

What are these screws used for?

They are designed for fixing electrical accessories to back boxes, particularly screwless socket and switch installations where the screw head must sit flush or below the mounting surface to allow the cover plate to clip on correctly.

Are they compatible with Knightsbridge screwless ranges?

Yes. The M3.5 diameter and countersunk head are the standard specification for Knightsbridge screwless sub-frames and similar accessories requiring flush-mounted fixings.

What back box depth do they suit?

The 50mm length provides sufficient thread for mounting accessories to standard 25-35mm back boxes through plasterboard or onto solid wall surfaces. Longer screws may be required for deeper back boxes or thicker wall finishes.

How many screws are in a pack?

Each pack contains 100 screws, which is sufficient for approximately 25-50 socket or switch installations depending on the number of fixing points per accessory.
