Pendant Cord Sets

A pendant cord set is the part that hangs the shade: a fabric or PVC cord, a ceiling canopy and a lamp holder, sold ready to wire. We stock them to pair with a shade from the same range or to mix, and two or three cluster well over a table. Shades are sold separately, and each set states its cord length and the cap it takes.

What comes in the box, and what does not

A cord set is three parts: the ceiling canopy that covers the rose, the flex, and the lamp holder at the end of it. What it does not include is a shade, and that is the whole idea. Buy the cord in the finish you want and the shade separately, and you are not tied to the pairing a manufacturer happened to box together. Each page gives the cord length, the canopy diameter and the cap the holder takes, so you can check a shade will fit before it arrives. Some sets take a bulb and some are sized for a specific shade collar, and the page says which.

Is a shade included?
No. A cord set is the cord, the canopy and the lamp holder. Shades are sold separately, which is the point of buying them apart.

How long is the cord, and can it be shortened?
The length is on every product page, most commonly around two metres. Shortening is done at the canopy during installation by an electrician, not by cutting the flex at the holder.

Which bulb caps are available?
E27 is the most common, with E14 and GX53 on some ranges. The cap is stated on each page and it determines which shades and bulbs will fit.

Can several be clustered on one ceiling point?
Yes, and it is a common way to use them, but a single ceiling rose has one supply and a weight limit. Use a multi-outlet canopy or a cluster plate rated for the number of drops, and have an electrician confirm the fixing.
