Description

The Cable Lacquer Cord Set E27 is a lampholder already made up on a length of flex, with a ceiling rose to cover the outlet. A brass lampholder shaped like a short straight cylinder with a domed shoulder, drawn down to the lamp ring at the bottom, hung from a plain black flex that runs straight into its flat top. The brass is a warm satin gold with a soft sheen rather than a mirror finish. There is no shade and no shade ring, so whatever lamp is fitted is the whole of what is seen. The form is plain with no knurling or turned lines on it. It is meant to hang on its own or in a run of several.

It is what a bare shade or a glass hangs on, made up ready so the only work left is the ceiling outlet and the drop. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.

The holder is E27 and takes up to 40W. It wires into a fixed outlet at a terminal block, which is work for a competent electrician. It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.
