The Interiors 1900 range by fixture type
We stock Interiors 1900’s traditional lighting as a small, coherent range rather than a broad catalogue, which makes it straightforward to run one look through a room. The fittings share a finish palette and a shade treatment, so a wall light beside a chimney breast and a lamp on a side table read as part of the same scheme. Here is how the range breaks down by fixture type.
Wall lights
Wall lights, or sconces if you are shopping from the US, are the widest part of the range. They come as single and twin versions, and picture lighting is included for artwork or a run of shelving. Everything here is rated IP20, so these are fittings for dry indoor walls rather than bathroom zones.
Floor and table lamps
For lamps we stock floor lamps, sometimes called standard lamps, including a swing arm form that reaches over a chair or sofa arm for reading. Table lamps in the same finishes suit a console, a sideboard or a bedside, and let you add a lower layer of light without rewiring anything. Because the lamps plug in, they are also the easiest way to try the range in a room before committing to a fixed fitting.
Pendants and chandeliers
Overhead, the range covers pendants, known as hanging lights in the US, and multi-arm chandelier lighting for a dining table or a hallway with height. Both carry the same fabric shade and brass detailing as the wall and table pieces.
Materials and finishes
Every piece in the range combines fabric, glass and metal, with the fabric shade softening the light and the glass and metal forming the frame. Finishes stay warm and traditional throughout: antique brass across most of the range, with solid brass on the picture lighting and its matching table lamp. Because the palette is narrow, mixing formats from the range within a single room is straightforward, and pieces sit comfortably against darker timber and period detailing.
That consistency is the practical argument for buying a room’s lighting from one range. A twin wall light either side of a fireplace, a table lamp on the console beneath it and a pendant overhead will share the same brass tone and the same shade fabric, which is difficult to achieve when you assemble a scheme from several makers. It also keeps the light itself consistent, since the shades diffuse it in the same way.
Caring for brass fittings
Brass is easy to live with if you keep it simple. Dust with a dry, soft cloth, and avoid abrasive cleaners and metal polishes, which can mark the surface. Fabric shades can be freshened with a soft brush or a low-suction vacuum. Let a fitting cool before you handle it, and isolate the circuit at the consumer unit before changing a lamp.
Choosing your Interiors 1900 lighting
Most of the range takes small E14 candle lamps, with a larger E27 Edison screw fitting on part of it, and many pieces are dimmable so you can drop the level in the evening. Check the specification table on each product page for the fitting, the maximum wattage and whether that piece dims, then use the filters to narrow by fixture type and finish.
