Description

The Ambledale three light pendant is the smaller version of the same idea: three curved arms in an antique brass finish, each with a candle lamp under a champagne coloured fabric shade, across a width of 440mm. The drop adjusts between 450mm and 1550mm at installation, so this ceiling light can sit close under a cottage ceiling or hang properly low over a table. Three E14 candle bulbs of up to 40W each are needed and are supplied separately. The whole fitting weighs 2.7kg, so it is easy work for a sound ceiling rose.

At 440mm across it fits rooms where a full chandelier would crowd the space: a small dining room, a kitchen, a landing, a study, a hallway in a terraced house, or a bedroom that wants something warmer overhead than a bare shade. Three lamps at 40W each give a gentle, even light rather than a hard pool, and the fabric shades keep glare out of eye level when you are sitting under it. It is an IP20 indoor fitting, so keep it to dry rooms.

Wiring is Class 1 and earthed, which means installation by a qualified electrician. It is dimmable with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, and to our eye low light through champagne fabric is where this pendant looks its best. Keep the shades brushed with a soft brush and wipe the metalwork with a dry cloth, leaving brass polish, solvents and abrasive creams well alone so the antique finish stays as it should. The Ambledale range steps up to a five light chandelier, and down to matching table, floor and wall lights.
