Burglar Alarm Batteries

Backup cells for ESP Fort Smart Security wireless alarm sirens and sensors, keeping protection running when mains power drops. Stocked here are 3.7V lithium-ion 18650 cells in 2200mAh and 3350mAh capacities, both made by ESP for the Fort Smart range. Higher capacity means longer cover between charges. Choose the rating that matches the siren or sensor you need to keep powered.

Backup power for a wireless alarm

A wireless alarm leans on its own cells to stay live, so the siren and sensors keep working when mains power drops or a unit sits away from a socket. The batteries in this range are the replacement cells that go inside those parts, ready to swap in once the originals are spent. Keeping a fresh set to hand means a flat cell never leaves a gap in cover.

Lithium-ion 18650 cells

The cells stocked here use lithium-ion chemistry in the 18650 cylindrical format, a common size across wireless security gear. They are rechargeable, so a unit can run, recharge and run again rather than being thrown away after one cycle. The format is fixed, which makes choosing simpler once you know what your siren or sensor takes, and it means a cell from one part will often suit another in the same setup.

Matching capacity to the job

Capacity is the main thing that separates one cell from another. A higher rating holds more charge and stretches the time between recharges, which suits a part that draws steadily or sits somewhere awkward to reach. A lower rating still does the job where access is easy and a quicker top-up is no trouble. Check the figure printed on the cell you are replacing and match it, since fitting the rating the part was built around keeps run times where they should be.

Replacing a cell

Swapping a cell is usually a case of opening the housing, lifting out the old one and seating the new cell the right way round. Worn or swollen cells should come out of service rather than being left in place, and spent ones are best recycled at a battery drop-off point. A spare or two kept in the drawer keeps a wireless setup ready year-round, so a routine swap never turns into a wait for parts. Free delivery worldwide on all orders over £99.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are burglar alarm batteries used for?
They are the backup cells that sit inside wireless alarm parts such as sirens and sensors, keeping them powered when mains supply drops or where a unit runs away from a socket. Fresh cells mean cover stays unbroken.

What type of cells are these?
The cells in this range use lithium-ion chemistry in the 18650 cylindrical format, a common size for wireless security gear. They are rechargeable, so a unit can be topped up and run again.

Which capacity should I choose?
Match the rating to the part you are powering. A higher capacity holds more charge and lengthens the time between recharges, which helps with a unit that is awkward to reach. Check the figure printed on the cell you are replacing.

How do I replace a cell?
Open the housing, remove the old cell and seat the new one the correct way round, then close it up. Worn or swollen cells should be taken out of service rather than left in place.

How should I dispose of an old cell?
Spent and damaged cells are best dropped at a battery recycling point rather than going in general waste. Many supermarkets and recycling centres take them back.
