Description

The Fort Smart Security 3.7V 3350mAh is a lithium-ion 18650 rechargeable battery cell designed for burglar alarm systems, security cameras and related low-voltage devices. The 18650 format refers to the cell dimensions — 18mm diameter by 65mm body length — with an overall 80mm length including the raised positive terminal. The 3350mAh capacity provides extended run time between charges compared to lower-capacity 18650 cells.

Designed for use in battery-powered alarm panels, wireless PIR sensors, door contacts and CCTV cameras where mains power is unavailable or impractical, the cell can be recharged hundreds of times before capacity degrades. Many Fort Smart Security alarm systems accept this cell format in their backup battery compartments, allowing the system to continue operating during mains power failures.

The lithium-ion chemistry delivers a stable 3.7V nominal voltage throughout most of the discharge cycle, avoiding the voltage drop seen in alkaline cells as they deplete. At 48g the cell is lighter than equivalent nickel-metal hydride batteries of similar capacity. The cell should be charged using a compatible lithium-ion charger rated for 3.7V 18650 cells — overcharging or using incompatible chargers can damage the cell or create a safety hazard.
