Description
The Ambledale twin wall light sets two candle lamps under champagne coloured fabric shades on a wider arm in an antique brass finish. It measures 340mm across and 300mm high, with a projection of 200mm from the wall, so it gives a broader spread of light than the single version while sitting no further into the room. Two E14 candle bulbs of up to 40W each are needed and are supplied separately. The fitting weighs 1.1kg, which most sound wall fixings will take without difficulty.
A twin wall light suits a wall that needs filling as much as lighting: above a sideboard, either side of a fireplace, along a wide landing, or in a dining room where we would put a pair at each end, which does more for the atmosphere than a single bright ceiling light. Two lamps at 40W each also make it a workable reading light over a bed. Antique brass and fabric shades read traditional, though they sit surprisingly easily with plain modern paintwork. It is IP20 rated for dry indoor use only.
The fitting is Class 1 and earthed, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician onto a wall box with an earth. It is dimmable when dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch are used. Brush the fabric shades with a soft brush and dust the metalwork with a dry cloth, leaving brass polish, solvents and abrasive creams alone so the antique finish keeps its depth. For narrower walls the matching Ambledale single wall light repeats the same shade, and the range also covers table, floor and ceiling fittings.

Frequently Asked
What are the dimensions?
340mm wide, 300mm high and 200mm out from the wall, weighing 1.1kg. It is wider than the single version but projects slightly less.
Which bulbs does it need?
Two E14 candle bulbs of up to 40W each, supplied separately. LED candle bulbs keep the fabric shades cool.
What is it made from?
Metalwork in an antique brass finish with champagne coloured fabric shades, and glass in the detailing.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, which suits wall lights used as the main evening light.
Is it bright enough to read by in bed?
Two lamps at up to 40W each give a good reading light at bedside height, and the fabric shades keep the glare down.
How should I clean it?
Brush the fabric shades with a soft brush and wipe the brass with a dry cloth. Avoid polish and abrasive creams on the antique finish.
