Description
The Larchdale picture light is a two light wall light in antique brass, 510mm long, projecting between 290mm and 350mm from the wall and standing 160mm to 250mm high. Both the projection and the height adjust, so the lamps can be lined up over the top edge of a frame and angled to wash the surface below. It takes two 6W LED E14 bulbs, supplied separately, and it is dimmable with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer.
This is the fitting to reach for above an oil painting, a large print, a mirror or a run of framed photographs, and it works equally well as a general wall light in a study, a landing or a narrow hallway. In the United States a fitting like this is usually listed as a wall sconce or picture light; the job is the same. Because the light is directed down and forward, it lifts artwork without flooding the whole wall. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.
The frame and arms are metal in an antique brass finish, with glass and fabric parts making up the rest of the build, and the whole light weighs 2.4kg, so use fixings suited to your wall type. It is Class 1, so an earth connection is needed and we would ask a qualified electrician to install it. Dust the brass with a dry, soft cloth and avoid metal polish or abrasive creams, which will cut through an antique finish. A matching Larchdale table lamp is available if you want the same brass tone lower down.

Frequently Asked
What finish is it?
Antique brass on metal arms and frame, with glass and fabric elements in the build. The tone is warm rather than bright and reflective.
What size picture does it suit?
At 510mm long it sits comfortably over frames from roughly 700mm to 1200mm wide. Projection adjusts from 290mm to 350mm to clear deeper frames.
Which bulbs does it take?
Two 6W LED E14 bulbs, supplied separately. Dimmable versions plus a compatible dimmer will let you set the level.
How do I clean it?
Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid metal polish, cream cleaners and solvents, as they will wear the antique brass finish back.
Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms such as hallways, studies, sitting rooms and bedrooms.
Does it need an earth?
Yes. It is Class 1, so it must be earthed, and the fixing should suit the wall since the light weighs 2.4kg.
