The Larchdale is a solid brass picture light made to light artwork, prints and framed pictures from above. The 36cm fitting holds two 6W LED lamps behind a slim shade that directs light down across the surface of a picture, showing its colours and detail without glare into the room. Both the reach and the height are adjustable, with the arm projecting between 290mm and 350mm and the head sitting between 160mm and 250mm high, so you can angle it to suit frames of different sizes. It is made from solid brass throughout, a material that ages gently and feels substantial.

A picture light earns its place above a painting, a print or a run of framed photographs, in a living room, hallway, study or up a staircase. It is equally at home lighting a mirror or a shelf display where you want a focused, gallery-style glow rather than general room light. The traditional brass finish suits period and classic interiors, and because the light is dimmable you can set it low for atmosphere or brighter to show a piece off. It is an accent light, chosen for what it lights rather than to light a whole room.

Being solid brass, the fitting is weighty and hard-wearing, and the finish can be left to develop a natural patina or kept bright with an occasional polish using a suitable brass cleaner. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth between times. The Larchdale uses two 6W E14 LED lamps, not included, and is dimmable when used with a compatible dimmer and dimmable LED bulbs. As a Class 1 fitting it requires an earthed connection. Rated IP20 for indoor use in dry rooms. It suits our wider range of traditional brass wall lights.
