Description

The Knightsbridge 1.8m pendant holder set provides a pre-wired E27 lampholder suspended on a black fabric-covered flex from a 100mm diameter anthracite ceiling rose. The lampholder itself is a 40mm diameter cylindrical metal housing finished in anthracite, with the E27 socket recessed inside to accept standard Edison screw bulbs up to 60W.

Designed for installation above kitchen islands, dining tables, worktops and bar counters, the 1.8m drop allows the pendant to hang at approximately 700-900mm above a surface when fitted to a standard 2.4m ceiling, though the flex can be shortened during installation if a higher suspension is needed. The pendant ships pre-wired to the ceiling rose, requiring only connection to the ceiling supply and a bulb to be fitted.

The anthracite finish is a dark charcoal grey with a semi-matt surface that absorbs rather than reflects light, making the pendant housing visually recessive once a bulb is lit. The metal construction is Class II double-insulated, meaning no earth connection is required for safe operation. The lampholder carries an IP20 rating, limiting it to dry indoor use only, and supports both LED and incandescent E27 bulbs depending on the dimmer compatibility of the bulb chosen.

Does the pendant come with a bulb?

No. The pendant accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED filament bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for decorative effect above dining or kitchen surfaces.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulb you choose. The pendant holder itself supports dimming, but the bulb must be marked as dimmable and matched to the specific dimmer switch model in use.

Can the 1.8m drop be shortened?

Yes. The flex can be cut to length during installation and re-terminated inside the ceiling rose, allowing shorter drops for lower ceilings or higher suspension positions above a surface.

What's the maximum bulb size that fits inside the holder?

The 40mm diameter holder accepts standard E27 bulbs. Large decorative globe bulbs (G95, G125) will protrude below the holder, which is typical for this style of pendant. Smaller A60 or ST64 filament bulbs sit more compactly within the holder profile.
