Description

A ceiling rose, 95cm tall, in brushed chrome. At 10cm wide it is about the width of a laptop.

A cool metal finish reflects white rather than yellow, which sharpens a room instead of warming it. Beside a window it disappears; against a dark wall it draws a bright outline. Also called a ceiling rose: it is the cover plate that hides the outlet in the ceiling, with the flex and the lampholder already fitted, so a shade is the only thing left to choose. Iron is the traditional choice for a reason: it takes heat, weight and time without complaint. It will mark if it is left wet, so indoors or under cover is where it belongs.

E27 lampholder, 1 of them, and no bulb in the box. Because it is E27, bulbs are stocked everywhere and you are never tied to one supplier. It is dimmable, so the level is set at the wall rather than fixed at the bulb. The cable is clear. It hangs from 15cm, so it clears a table without cutting the sightline. A GLS shaped bulb, which is the word to look for on the box.

Dusting is all it asks for, with a damp cloth on the finish and nothing solvent or abrasive.
