Description

The Knightsbridge LEDGL3D is a 3W LED recessed ground light built around a 304 stainless steel bezel, aluminium body and integral driver rated IP65 for outdoor installation. The integrated LED delivers 290 lumens of 6000K daylight-temperature light through a clear glass diffuser, with a 45-degree beam angle directing illumination upward from the ground surface.

Designed for pathways, driveways, patios, and decking, the fitting sits flush with the ground surface, projecting just 3mm above grade when installed. The 78mm cut-out allows installation in poured concrete, block paving, timber decking or resin-bound gravel, and the stainless steel construction withstands loads up to 800kg at 5mph — suitable for pedestrian traffic and occasional vehicle crossings on domestic driveways. The IP65 rating protects the internals from rain, jet-wash cleaning and ground moisture.

The 94mm recessed depth requires excavation or void space beneath the installation surface to accommodate the aluminium body and the 2-metre outdoor-rated flex that runs from the light to a junction box or transformer. The 304 stainless steel bezel resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments better than plated finishes, and the brushed surface hides minor scuffs from foot traffic. The 6000K colour temperature provides crisp white light that renders edges and textures clearly, making it suitable for security lighting and wayfinding rather than ambient garden wash.

Yes. The fitting is rated to 800kg at 5mph, which covers pedestrian traffic and occasional vehicle crossings on domestic driveways. It is not suitable for main carriageways or frequent heavy vehicle use.

What depth of excavation is needed?

The recessed body is 94mm deep, requiring a void or excavation of at least 100mm below the finished surface level to allow clearance for the fitting and the 2m outdoor flex that runs to a junction box.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the driver assembly and cannot be replaced separately. The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours suggests the LED will maintain at least 70% of its original output for approximately 5.7 years of continuous operation.

What colour temperature is the light?

The integrated LED emits 6000K daylight, which is a crisp white light with a slight blue cast. This colour temperature is well-suited to security and wayfinding applications rather than ambient garden lighting, where warmer tones are typically preferred.
