Description

The Knightsbridge HPLED1W is a 1W LED recessed ground light built from grade 304 stainless steel with an IP65 rating and a 500kg maximum load capacity. The integrated LED produces 85 lumens at 5500K colour temperature through a clear polycarbonate lens set into a brushed stainless steel surround measuring 62mm diameter with a 9mm surface projection.

Designed for outdoor pathways, driveways, decking and patio edge marking, the light recesses into a 40mm diameter cut-out (60mm with the optional installation sleeve for ground mounting) and sits 90mm below the finished surface. The 20-degree beam angle provides a concentrated pool of daylight-white light rather than wide wash, making it suitable for defining path edges, step nosings and driveway boundaries without excessive spill. The 1-metre 3-core 1.00mm² H05RN-F cable is factory-fitted and terminated inside the housing for mains voltage connection.

The 500kg load rating allows the light to be installed in driveways where occasional vehicle passage occurs, though it is not rated for continuous vehicular traffic. For ground installation the optional sleeve (sold separately) provides a stable mounting collar and protects the cable run during backfilling. For timber decking installation the sleeve is not required — the light can be recessed directly into a drilled hole. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in wet and coastal environments, and the IP65 rating protects against water jets and dust ingress.

Can this be driven over?

The light carries a 500kg maximum load rating, which allows occasional vehicle passage such as cars reversing on a driveway. It is not rated for continuous vehicular traffic or commercial loading.

Is an installation sleeve required?

For ground installation (concrete, block paving, gravel) the optional sleeve is recommended to provide a stable mounting collar and protect the cable during backfilling. For timber decking the sleeve is not required — the light can be recessed directly into a drilled 40mm hole.

What is the beam angle?

The light has a 20-degree beam angle, producing a concentrated pool of light rather than a wide wash. This makes it suitable for defining path edges and step nosings without excessive light spill into adjacent planting or windows.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 1W LED is integrated into the housing and non-replaceable. The L70B50 rating of 20,000 hours means the LED will maintain 70% of its initial output for at least 20,000 hours of operation under normal conditions.
