Description
The Solarium is a 50mm diameter recessed ground light with two-sided LED emission, built into a high-performance resin housing finished in black. The integrated 3000K LED casts warm white light from opposite sides of the fitting, illuminating pathways, driveways and parking areas with dual beams that spread horizontally across the ground. Rated IP67, the fitting is fully sealed against dust and water ingress to a depth of 1m for 30 minutes, making it suitable for outdoor installation in areas exposed to rain, snow and surface water.
Designed for installation flush with the ground surface, the Solarium is drive-over rated and can withstand vehicle loads without damage to the housing or internal components. The 90mm installation depth allows the fitting to sit below finished paving, block paving, tarmac or resin-bound surfaces, with only the polycarbonate lens visible at ground level. The two-sided emission pattern suits edge-of-driveway positions, pathway borders and outdoor stair treads where light needs to spread laterally rather than upward.
The resin housing resists corrosion from de-icing salts, UV degradation from sunlight, and thermal cycling between -60°C and +90°C, making the fitting suitable for UK winters and continental European climates. The black finish minimises daytime visibility against dark paving and tarmac surfaces. The G9 LED lamp is integrated and non-replaceable, with Ideal Lux providing a 5-year warranty covering the complete assembly including the LED module and driver.

Frequently Asked
Can this light withstand vehicle traffic?
Yes. The Solarium is drive-over rated and designed to handle the weight of cars and light commercial vehicles when installed correctly into a stable sub-base. The resin housing and polycarbonate lens are both impact-resistant.
What installation depth is required?
The fitting requires a 90mm installation depth below the finished surface level. A suitable recessed housing or core-drilled void is needed, with electrical connections made below ground and the fitting sealed into the surface material.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The G9 LED is integrated into the fitting and non-user-replaceable. The complete assembly including LED module and driver is covered by a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.
What does two-sided emission mean?
Light is emitted from opposite sides of the circular housing rather than upward or all-around. This creates two horizontal beams spreading across the ground, making the fitting suited to pathway edges, driveway borders and positions where lateral light distribution is needed.
