Description

The Knightsbridge LEDM08B1 is a 1.7W blue LED recessed ground light with a 110mm diameter 316 stainless steel bezel and a 5mm surface projection above ground level. The integrated LED casts blue accent light through an opal diffuser at a 105-degree beam angle, designed for marking pathways, deck edges, and stonework rather than primary illumination.

Rated IP65 for wet outdoor areas, the fitting suits garden decking, patio borders, driveway edges and outdoor steps where low-level blue accent lighting is needed. The 47mm recessed depth requires a 90mm cut-out (or 97mm with the optional thermoplastic sleeve), making it shallow enough to fit beneath most deck boards and paving slabs without disturbing sub-base layers. The drive-over rating of 1000kg at 5mph allows the light to be installed in driveway borders or courtyard edges where occasional vehicle access is needed.

The 316-grade stainless steel bezel resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments better than standard 304 stainless. The die-cast aluminium body dissipates heat from the 1.7W LED, which outputs 15 lumens of blue light — enough for accent work but not for functional task lighting. The fitting is pre-wired with 2.5m of outdoor-rated flex, allowing connection to a weatherproof junction box or outdoor transformer without needing to pull additional cable through the installation void. The optional thermoplastic housing sleeve increases mechanical protection during and after installation.

The blue LED provides accent and marker lighting rather than functional illumination. At 15 lumens it marks deck edges, pathways, steps and borders without producing enough light to read or work by. Blue is often used in outdoor landscape lighting to create visual interest and delineate zones.

Can it be driven over?

Yes, the fitting is rated for vehicles up to 1000kg at 5mph, making it suitable for driveway borders and courtyard edges where occasional vehicle access is needed. Do not install in high-speed or heavy vehicle traffic areas.

What installation depth is required?

The recessed depth is 47mm below the finished surface, with a 90mm cut-out diameter (or 97mm if using the optional thermoplastic sleeve). This shallow profile allows installation beneath most deck boards and paving slabs without disturbing the sub-base.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The 1.7W LED has a typical lifespan of 25,000-30,000 hours under normal outdoor use.
