Description

The Venus is a 90mm diameter recessed ground light with a black high-performance resin body, designed to withstand vehicle loads up to 5000kg and environmental exposure from -60°C to +90°C. The fitting takes a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) behind an IP67-rated sealed lens that protects against full dust ingress and temporary water immersion to 1m depth.

Designed for driveways, parking areas, pathway edging and courtyard installation, the Venus sits flush with the ground surface once recessed into concrete or compacted sub-base. The 5000kg load rating allows passenger cars and light commercial vehicles to pass directly over the fitting without damage to the lens or housing. The 2150mm cable run allows connection to mains supply from a nearby junction box or transformer, with the resin body offering resistance to corrosion from de-icing salts, fertilisers and soil contact.

The black resin finish reduces daytime visual impact against tarmac, concrete and dark paving, while the clear lens diffuses the GU10 beam into a pool of ground-level light suitable for marking pathway edges, driveway boundaries or courtyard features. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 LED and mains dimmer or control system, allowing light levels to be adjusted for ambient or functional use.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Venus takes a single GU10 bulb up to the maximum wattage specified by the fitting (typically 35W halogen or equivalent LED). Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a warm-white GU10 LED between 3W and 5W for pathway and driveway marking.

Can vehicles drive over it?

Yes. The fitting is rated for static and dynamic loads up to 5000kg, which covers passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles. The resin body and sealed lens are designed to handle the weight and vibration of vehicles passing directly over the fitting when correctly installed into a compacted sub-base.

How is it installed?

The Venus requires a cut-out in concrete, tarmac or compacted aggregate, with the resin housing set flush to the finished surface level. The 2150mm cable connects to mains supply via a waterproof junction box or outdoor transformer. Professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended for mains-voltage outdoor ground lights.

Is it waterproof?

Yes. The IP67 rating means the fitting is fully dust-tight and protected against temporary water immersion to 1m depth for up to 30 minutes. This makes it suitable for use in areas subject to heavy rain, surface water pooling and occasional flooding.
