Description
The Knightsbridge LEDM06W is a recessed mini ground light with an integrated 0.6W LED delivering 50 lumens of 6000K daylight-white light through a 38mm brushed steel bezel. The fitting carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for paths, driveways, patios and decking. It runs directly on 230V mains with no transformer required.
Designed for external path marking, step lighting and low-level accent lighting, the unit installs into a 32mm cut-out with a 48mm recessed depth below ground level. The kit includes one fixed brushed steel head plus three interchangeable chrome heads that can be swapped to vary the light distribution pattern, along with a 2m rubber cable for connection to mains supply. The polycarbonate lens sits flush with the stainless steel bezel and withstands foot traffic when installed level with paving.
The 115-degree beam angle provides wide spread coverage suitable for illuminating a 600-800mm area from ground level, useful for marking garden steps, edging pathways or highlighting planting beds. The 6000K colour temperature produces a cool white light closer to natural daylight than warm-white alternatives, which reads clearly against greenery and stonework at night. The LED is rated for 60,000 hours L70 lifespan and is not dimmable. Class II construction means no earth connection is required.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the fitting is fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for installation in patios, driveways, garden paths and decking where it will be exposed to rain, hose-downs and occasional standing water. It is not designed for submersion in ponds or water features.
What are the interchangeable heads used for?
The kit includes one fixed brushed steel head plus three additional chrome heads that can be swapped to change the light distribution pattern. Different head designs alter the beam shape and spread, allowing the fitting to be adapted for different applications such as narrow path marking versus wider area wash lighting.
Does this need a transformer?
No. The fitting runs directly on 230V mains supply. The 2m rubber cable connects to your outdoor mains circuit, typically via a weatherproof junction box or through conduit to an indoor connection point. No separate transformer or driver is required.
Can it be installed in decking or only paving?
The fitting can be installed in both paving and decking. When installing in timber decking, ensure the cut-out is made cleanly with a hole saw and that the surrounding timber is treated to resist moisture ingress around the bezel. The polycarbonate lens sits flush with the surface and can withstand foot traffic when properly bedded.
