Description

The Knightsbridge KIT16W is a 10-piece LED deck light kit with ten 0.2W integrated LED fittings set into 30mm stainless steel bezels, each rated IP65 for outdoor use. The kit includes an outdoor-rated LED driver, easy-fix connectors and pre-wired cable runs between units, providing a complete low-level lighting installation for decking, pathways, kitchen plinths, staircases and garden borders.

Designed for recessed installation in decking boards, garden edging, under-cabinet plinths and stair risers, each fitting requires a 25mm cut-out and a minimum 35mm void behind the mounting surface. The units connect in series with up to 150cm spacing between fittings and up to 150cm cable run from the driver to the first unit. The driver connects to mains via a 30cm AC cable, keeping the IP65-rated outdoor section separate from the indoor wiring termination.

The stainless steel bezels are made from grade 304 stainless, providing corrosion resistance in damp and outdoor environments. The polycarbonate lens protects the LED module behind the bezel face. The 6000K colour temperature produces a cool white light suitable for functional pathway marking and step definition rather than warm ambient lighting. Total kit output is 90 lumens across all ten fittings at 2.2W combined load, giving extremely low running costs for permanent guide lighting.

The system is compatible with PIR sensors when wired via a suitable motion-activated switch upstream of the driver, allowing the deck lights to operate on demand rather than continuously. The LEDs are non-dimmable and the driver is a constant-current type rated for Class II operation, requiring no earth connection to the metal bezels.

What spacing is needed between lights?

The pre-wired cable allows up to 150cm spacing between individual fittings. Most decking installations use 50-100cm spacing for even guide lighting along pathways or step edges.

Can the kit be used outdoors year-round?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against rain and moisture ingress. The grade 304 stainless steel bezels resist corrosion in outdoor environments. The driver should be positioned in a sheltered location or housed in a suitable IP-rated enclosure.

Is the light output bright enough for pathways?

The kit produces 90 lumens total across all ten fittings, which is low-level guide lighting rather than area illumination. It marks edges, steps and pathways for safe navigation but does not replace task or security lighting.

Can it be wired to a PIR sensor?

Yes. The system is PIR-compatible when the mains supply feeding the driver is controlled by a motion-activated switch. The driver itself has no built-in PIR — the sensor must be wired upstream in the mains circuit.
