Description
The Emberwave is a 140mm recessed ground light with an integrated 12W 3000K LED array behind a tempered glass lens, set into a grey powder-coated stainless steel bezel. The IP67-rated housing is sealed against water ingress and dust penetration, and the fitting is engineered to be driven over by vehicles up to 2,000kg, making it suitable for both pedestrian pathways and residential driveways.
Designed for installation flush with paving, tarmac, gravel or block paving, the Emberwave sits just 88mm deep below ground level and requires a recessed sleeve or can (typically 120-150mm excavation depth depending on substrate). The warm 3000K light provides orientation and safety lighting along garden paths, driveway edges, patio perimeters and around swimming pools. The recessed lens sits flush with the ground surface, so the fitting does not create a trip hazard or obstruct mowers and garden machinery.
The grey powder-coated finish on the bezel reduces glare reflection from headlights and blends with most paving materials without drawing attention during daylight. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments, and the integrated LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use. The fitting is not dimmable and requires mains voltage wiring through buried armoured cable or conduit rated for outdoor ground burial.

Frequently Asked
Can this be driven over?
Yes. The Emberwave is engineered to withstand vehicle loads up to 2,000kg when correctly installed flush with a solid substrate. It is suitable for residential driveways, parking areas and pedestrian pathways.
What excavation depth is needed?
The fitting sits 88mm deep, but typical installation requires a recessed sleeve or excavation of 120-150mm to accommodate the housing and allow for adjustment during installation. The exact depth depends on the paving or substrate thickness.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The LED array is integrated into the housing and not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours, which equates to around 10 years of typical evening use.
What cable rating is required?
Mains voltage wiring must be run through armoured cable or conduit rated for direct ground burial. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
