Description
The Blazewood is a 120mm recessed ground light with a brushed grey metal faceplate and a single GU10 bulb fitting. The IP67 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and temporary submersion up to 1 metre, making it suitable for pathway edges, decking, patios and garden beds where occasional rain pooling or hosepipe washdown is likely.
Designed for flush installation in paving, timber decking or tarmac, the 90mm recess depth requires a void below the surface for the lamp housing and bulb. The recessed design keeps the faceplate level with the walking surface, avoiding trip hazards while providing upward or angled light to mark pathway edges, illuminate steps, or wash light across architectural features and planting. The grey metal finish blends with concrete, stone and composite decking during daylight without drawing attention to the fitting.
The GU10 socket accepts LED, halogen or CFL bulbs (sold separately) up to the maximum wattage specified by Ideal Lux, and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 dimmable bulb and outdoor-rated dimmer. The three fixing screws visible on the faceplate are stainless steel to resist corrosion. Each Blazewood unit is supplied with installation instructions and carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.

Frequently Asked
What does IP67 mean for outdoor use?
IP67 means the fitting is fully dust-tight and can withstand temporary submersion in water up to 1 metre depth for 30 minutes. In practical terms, the Blazewood can be installed in pathways, decks and patios where rain pooling or garden irrigation may occasionally cover the fitting.
What bulb does it take?
The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a warm-white LED GU10 between 3W and 7W for pathway marking or accent lighting. Check the Ideal Lux maximum wattage specification before fitting halogen bulbs.
Can it be driven over?
The Blazewood is rated for pedestrian traffic when installed flush with a stable surface. It is not designed for vehicle loads unless installed in a protective housing or well away from wheel tracks. For driveways, consult Ideal Lux for drive-over rated models.
What installation depth is needed?
The 90mm height requires a void of at least 100mm below the walking surface to accommodate the lamp housing, bulb and wiring connections. Installation in solid surfaces requires core drilling; installation in decking requires joist clearance.
