Description

The Edge is a 100cm linear LED ground light built from aluminium with a graphite powder-coated finish and an integrated 15W 3000K LED strip running the full length of the housing. The LED delivers 1000 lumens through a diffuser channel that sits flush with the top of the aluminium body, directing light upward and outward along the length of the fitting.

Designed for pathway edging, garden borders, wall washing and architectural up-lighting, the Edge mounts directly onto hard surfaces (paving, concrete, gravel beds) using the fixing brackets on the underside of the housing. The IP65 rating makes it suitable for permanent outdoor installation in exposed UK weather, with sealed cable entry points preventing water and dust ingress. The 100cm length suits pathway runs, fence lines, and low-level wall washing where a continuous line of light is needed without visible gaps between fittings.

The graphite finish is a mid-tone grey powder coat over cast aluminium, which resists corrosion and holds colour under UV exposure better than painted steel alternatives. The fitting weighs approximately 1.2kg and sits 5.9cm high when installed, keeping a low profile against ground level. The diffuser tilts slightly to allow the light to be angled away from the mounting surface, preventing light pooling directly beneath the fitting and instead casting the beam forward along the intended pathway or wall.

The integrated LED operates on standard 220-240V mains with a CRI of 80, rendering natural greens and earth tones accurately when used to light planting and stone surfaces. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light that sits comfortably in residential and hospitality landscapes without the clinical appearance of cooler LED temperatures.

The integrated 15W LED operates on mains voltage. Dimming capability depends on the specific driver module fitted inside the housing and the external dimmer used. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer system to confirm compatibility.

What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?

IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. It can handle rain, garden irrigation overspray, and hosing down of paved areas, but it should not be submerged or installed where standing water regularly collects.

How is it mounted?

The Edge mounts onto hard surfaces using fixing brackets on the underside of the aluminium housing. It requires a solid base such as paving slabs, concrete paths, or a gravel bed with a compacted sub-base. It is not designed to be staked into soft ground.

Can multiple units be linked together?

Each fitting requires its own mains connection. Multiple Edge units can be positioned end-to-end to create a continuous line of light, but they cannot be electrically daisy-chained. Each unit needs to be wired back to a junction box or outdoor power supply point.
