Description
The Solarium is a 50mm recessed ground light with a one-sided LED output, built into a black resin housing rated IP67 for full dust and water ingress protection. The integrated 3000K LED casts warm white light from one aperture, designed to mark pathways, driveways, patio edges or garden borders where directional ground-level illumination is needed. The housing is rated to support loads up to 2000kg, making it suitable for installation in areas where vehicles may pass or park.
Designed for outdoor installation in residential driveways, commercial car parks, public walkways and landscape projects, the Solarium sits flush with the ground surface once installed. The one-sided light output directs the beam horizontally rather than radiating in all directions, reducing light spill and providing defined edge marking. The resin housing resists corrosion from road salt, de-icing chemicals and UV exposure, and is rated for use in ambient temperatures from -60°C to +90°C.
The black finish blends with tarmac, resin-bound surfaces and dark paving, leaving only the aperture visible when the light is off. The 90mm installation depth requires a concrete or compacted gravel sub-base for load-bearing installations. The integrated LED removes the need for bulb replacement and draws minimal current, making the Solarium suitable for runs of multiple fittings on a single circuit. Ideal Lux backs this fitting with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
Can vehicles drive over the Solarium?
Yes. The housing is rated to support loads up to 2000kg, making it suitable for driveways, car parks and areas where vehicles may pass or park. The installation must be into a concrete or compacted sub-base to distribute the load correctly.
What does one-sided output mean?
The LED emits light from one aperture only, directing the beam horizontally in a single direction. This provides defined edge marking for paths and driveways without radiating light in all directions, reducing light spill into adjacent areas.
What installation depth is required?
The fitting is 90mm tall and sits flush with the finished surface. A recess of at least 100mm depth is needed to accommodate the housing and allow for levelling during installation.
Is the LED replaceable?
The LED is integrated into the housing and is not user-replaceable. The fitting is designed for long-term use without bulb changes, backed by a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.
