Description

The Valora is a 15-light chandelier built around a 140cm linear frame in polished nickel, hung with hundreds of fine metal chains that form a layered veil beneath the lamp housings. Twelve 3.5W G9 lamps sit within the upper tier and three 5W GU10 LEDs project downward through the centre, lighting the chain curtain from inside and casting filtered light across the surrounding surfaces.

Designed for large-scale interiors with high or vaulted ceilings, the Valora suits long dining tables, double-height entrance halls, hotel lobbies and open-plan living and dining rooms where a horizontal fitting reads better than a circular one. The 140cm length sits well above tables of 200cm or longer, and the 75cm height gives the chains room to drape and taper without crowding the surface below. Two nickel chain suspensions support the fitting from the ceiling and conceal the cabling.

The frame is a hand-shaped metal structure with an undulating polished nickel rim that catches direct light along its top edge, while the chain veil itself diffuses the lamps to a soft, textured glow. At 48kg the Valora is a substantial fitting and requires a structural ceiling fixing rated to take the load. The chains are graduated in length so that the lower tier finishes in irregular tapered points rather than a flat hem, giving the silhouette a more organic, draped quality than a typical tiered chandelier.

The 140cm length is best suited to dining tables of 200cm or longer, or rooms with a primary axis of at least 4m. Ceiling height should be 2.7m or higher to allow the 75cm body of the fitting plus drop space for the chain suspensions. The chandelier typically hangs 70-85cm above a dining table.

What bulbs does it take?

How are the chains cleaned?

Dust the chains gently with a soft, dry brush or a hairdryer on a cool, low setting to lift dust without tangling the strands. Avoid wet cleaning, as water can mark the metal finish and weigh the chains out of shape. Switch off and isolate the fitting before any cleaning.
