Description
The Ramses is an 8-light chandelier built around a polished brass hub with eight horizontal arms, each terminating in a double-cone matt black metal shade. The diabolo-style shades flare outward at top and bottom from a polished brass collar, sending light both upward across the ceiling and downward onto the surface below. Each shade houses an E14 golf-ball bulb (sold separately).
At 95cm in diameter and 55cm in height, the Ramses is sized for larger rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. It works well centred over a 1.6-2.4m dining table, in open-plan living areas, or above a stairwell void where the dual-direction light helps fill a tall space. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to set the chandelier 700-850mm above a dining surface.
The contrast between matt black shades and polished brass hardware draws on mid-century Italian lighting language, where double-cone shades and brass collars were a signature of Stilnovo-era design. The matt finish on the eight metal shades absorbs reflections and keeps the focus on the silhouette, while the brass central hub, arms and collars catch ambient light and add warmth to the otherwise dark fitting.
With eight E14 lamp positions the Ramses produces a substantial output when fitted with standard 40W-equivalent LED golf bulbs, giving enough light to act as the primary fitting in a 4-6m dining or living space without needing supplementary downlights.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Ramses take?
The chandelier takes 8 x E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, one per shade. Golf-ball or candle-shape LED bulbs up to 40W-equivalent suit the double-cone shades best. Bulbs are sold separately.
What size room does it suit?
At 95cm in diameter the Ramses suits larger rooms — typically 4-6m across — with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. It works well centred over a 1.6-2.4m dining table, in open-plan living areas, or above a stairwell void.
Does it light upward as well as downward?
Yes. Each shade is a double cone, open at both top and bottom, so the bulb projects light upward across the ceiling and downward onto the surface below. This makes the Ramses useful as a primary ambient fitting rather than a purely directional pendant.
Can the drop be adjusted?
The cable length is 150cm and can be shortened on installation to set the correct hanging height. Above a dining table the chandelier typically sits 700-850mm above the surface; in stairwells and open voids it can be hung lower to fill the space.
