Description

The Stratiform Vertical is a 200cm sculptural chandelier built around a tapered nickel-finished metal ribbon that spirals downward in a continuous helix, wrapped along its length by a fine brass chain veil. Twelve replaceable 2.5W LED modules at 3000K are integrated into the structure, each lighting a section of the spiral so the chain curtain glows from within rather than from a single source.

Designed for double-height architectural spaces, the chandelier suits grand stairwells, atriums, mezzanine voids and double-height foyers where the full 200cm drop can hang freely without crowding the floor below. The narrow 35cm diameter keeps the visual footprint slim, so the piece adds vertical emphasis without blocking sightlines across a void or down a staircase. The 150cm cable allows mounting from ceilings significantly above the top of the fixture.

The metal ribbon is finished in cool nickel with a polished sheen along its edges, contrasting with the warmer tone of the brass chains that drape along its surface. As the spiral rotates downward the chain veil shifts in density, casting layered shadows that change with viewing angle and time of day. At 14.5kg the chandelier requires a ceiling fixing rated for the load, and pairs well with timber, blackened steel and exposed concrete finishes.

What ceiling height does the Stratiform need?

The fixture itself is 200cm tall with a further 150cm of cable above it, giving a maximum mounting drop of around 3.5m. It's built for double-height spaces such as stairwells, atriums and voids where the bottom of the chandelier sits well clear of head height on the lower floor.

Are the LED modules replaceable?

Yes. The twelve 2.5W 3000K LED modules are built-in but replaceable, so individual modules can be swapped at end of life rather than replacing the whole fixture.

Can the cable be shortened?

The 150cm cable can be shortened during installation by a qualified electrician to suit lower ceiling heights. The structure of the chandelier itself is fixed at 200cm and cannot be altered.

How is the chain veil cleaned?

Dust the brass chains and nickel ribbon with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a long-handled feather duster. Avoid liquid cleaners and polishes, which can mark the nickel finish and leave residue between the chain links.
