Description
The Valora is a 5 light chandelier built from layered curtains of fine nickel-finish metal chain hung from a sculpted, wing-shaped upper frame. Five lamp positions sit behind the chain veils, taking 4 x G9 (3.5W) and 1 x GU10 (5W LED) bulbs on a 230-240V supply. The chain mesh diffuses light through the fitting itself, scattering small points of reflection across the surrounding ceiling and walls.
At 30cm diameter and 60cm in height, the Valora suits dining tables, stairwell drops, foyers and reading nooks where a vertically layered fitting works better than a wide horizontal one. The 150cm cable allows the chandelier to be set at the right height above a 6-seat dining table or hung as a feature in a double-height entrance. The compact diameter keeps it usable in rooms where a traditional chandelier would feel oversized.
The structure combines a brass chain construction with a metal frame, finished in nickel for a cooler silver tone that pairs with monochrome schemes, polished concrete, dark walnut and marble. The chains are cut to varying lengths so the lower edge breaks into staggered points rather than a flat hem, giving the fitting movement when air circulates in the room. Total weight is 5.5kg, so a standard ceiling joist or suitable fixing is required.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Valora take?
The chandelier uses 4 x G9 capsule bulbs (3.5W rating) and 1 x GU10 LED bulb (5W rating), running on a standard 230-240V UK supply. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm white colour temperature around 2700K-3000K suits the cool nickel tones best.
How much ceiling height is needed?
The fitting itself is 60cm tall and supplied with a 150cm cable, giving a maximum total drop of 210cm from ceiling to base of the chains. The cable can be shortened on installation. For dining use, hang the base 75-90cm above the table; for foyers and stairwells, allow at least 2.1m clearance from floor to base.
Is it suitable for a small room?
Yes. At 30cm diameter the Valora is one of the more compact chandeliers in this style, and the vertical chain drop draws the eye downwards rather than outwards. It works in rooms where a traditional 60cm or 80cm chandelier would feel oversized.
How is the chain veil cleaned?
Dust the chain mesh gently with a soft, dry duster or a microfibre cloth on a low setting. Avoid pulling the chains downwards, as this can distort the staggered hem. For more thorough cleaning, isolate the fitting at the consumer unit first and use a barely-damp cloth on the metal frame only.
