Description

The Ramses is a 5-light chandelier built around five matt black double-cone shades suspended from brushed brass arms. Each shade pairs an upward-facing cone with a downward-facing cone joined at a brass collar, throwing light both up onto the ceiling and down towards the floor. The interior of every cone is finished in warm gold, which catches the E14 bulb light and casts a softer tone than the matt black exterior would suggest.

At 75cm in diameter and 55cm tall, this is a chandelier sized for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living spaces with ceilings of 2.6m or higher. The 150cm rod-and-cable suspension is adjustable on installation, so the fitting can be set 700-800mm above a dining table or higher in entrance halls and stairwells. Five E14 golf-ball bulbs (sold separately) drive the fitting, allowing the light temperature and brightness to be tuned to the room.

The metalwork combines a brushed brass central canopy and arms with the matt black shade exteriors, giving the chandelier a clear mid-century influence drawn from 1950s Italian double-cone designs. The brass collars and pivoting joints at the top of each shade allow the upper cones to be tilted slightly, useful for fine-tuning the upward wash of light against textured or coloured ceilings. Build is all-metal at 5kg, with no plastic components in the visible structure.

The chandelier takes 5 x E14 (small Edison screw) golf-ball bulbs, sold separately. Each shade houses one bulb at the joint of the two cones. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white LED golf-ball bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 150cm suspension is adjustable on installation, so the chandelier suits ceilings of 2.6m or higher. Above a dining table the fitting typically sits 700-800mm above the table surface; in entrance halls and stairwells it can hang lower in the void.
