Description

The Mireya is an 8-light tiered chandelier built from cascading curtains of fine black metal chain, suspended in three layered bands from a structured metal frame. Eight E14 lamps sit inside the chain veil at 6W LED each, casting light outward through the chainwork so the fitting reads as a textured silhouette by day and a glittering volume when lit. The piece measures 65cm in diameter with a total drop of 1470mm including chain suspension.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells, formal dining rooms and hotel-style lobbies, the Mireya needs ceiling height to be seen properly. The vertical emphasis of the trailing chains and the long suspension chain make it best suited to rooms with ceilings of 3m or more, or to stairwell voids where the full length can hang freely. The fitting weighs 28kg, so installation requires a properly rated ceiling hook or junction box rated for the load.

The chain veil is the defining feature: thousands of individual chain links hung in close-spaced rows from three brass support bands, finished in black so the metal recedes in shadow and catches highlights along the edges. The bottom tier gathers into a long tapered point, giving the chandelier a teardrop profile rather than a flat skirt. The chains move slightly in air currents, so the surface texture is never completely static under directional lighting.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting has a total drop of 1470mm including suspension chain, so we recommend a minimum ceiling height of 3m to give the chandelier room to hang properly. It works particularly well in stairwells and double-height voids where the full chain veil can be seen from below and across multiple floor levels.

What bulbs does it take, and are they included?

The Mireya takes 8 x E14 (small Edison screw) LED bulbs at 6W each. Please check the product listing or contact us to confirm whether bulbs are included with this specific order, as bulb inclusion can vary.

How is it installed given the 28kg weight?

At 28kg, the Mireya must be hung from a ceiling hook, joist or fixing point rated to safely support the load with a margin. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, who will also confirm the fixing is secured into structural timber or a suitable masonry anchor rather than plasterboard alone.

Can the suspension chain be shortened?

Yes. The 150cm cable and chain length can be shortened on installation to suit lower ceilings or to set the chandelier at a specific height above a stairwell or dining table. The electrician will adjust the chain links and feed the cable through to length during fitting.
