Description
The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur provides switched fused control for fixed appliances such as water heaters, extractor fans, underfloor heating systems and kitchen appliances. The unit combines a rocker switch, integral neon indicator, fuse holder and flex outlet behind a polished brass flat plate with screwless fixing. The neon indicator glows red when the circuit is energised, confirming power status at a glance.
Designed for residential and commercial installation where fixed appliances need local isolation and overcurrent protection, the fused spur sits flush to the wall with a 2.5mm projection from the face. The flex outlet at the base allows hard-wired appliances to exit the plate cleanly without drilling additional holes or running surface conduit. The rocker switch isolates both live and neutral when turned off, providing safe access for appliance maintenance.
The polished brass finish on the steel faceplate gives a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional, period and warm contemporary interiors. The screwless flat plate design hides fixings behind a clip-on cover, giving a cleaner wall finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The unit fits standard 25mm minimum depth metal back boxes and carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty. The built-in gasket seals against the wall surface to prevent dust ingress behind the plate.

Frequently Asked
What appliances is this fused spur used for?
Fused spurs control fixed appliances that need local isolation and overcurrent protection, such as water heaters, electric towel rails, extractor fans, underfloor heating, washing machines and dishwashers. The flex outlet allows the appliance cable to exit cleanly from the plate.
What fuse rating does it take?
The unit accepts standard BS 1362 cartridge fuses rated at 3A, 5A or 13A depending on the connected appliance load. Most domestic fixed appliances use a 13A fuse. The fuse holder is accessible behind the screwless cover plate.
What does the neon indicator show?
The neon glows red when the circuit is energised, confirming power is available to the appliance. This allows quick visual confirmation of status without switching the appliance on. The neon is wired to illuminate when the switch is in the on position.
Can the screwless plate be removed for decorating?
Yes. The polished brass cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the fitting and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
