Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang blanking plate covers unused or redundant electrical boxes behind a polished brass faceplate with an ultra-flat profile. At 2.5mm projection from the wall, the plate sits nearly flush with the surface, making it less noticeable than standard-depth covers and reducing the risk of snagging on fabrics or furniture.

Designed for residential and commercial installations where electrical back boxes remain in the wall but are no longer needed for active circuits, the blanking plate provides a finished appearance rather than leaving an open void or temporary cover. The built-in gasket seals the plate against the back box, preventing dust ingress and providing a secure fit without additional sealing compounds. The earth terminal allows continuation of earth bonding where required by wiring regulations.

The plate fits standard UK double-gang (2-gang) 35mm deep back boxes with 60.3mm horizontal centre spacing between fixing screws. The built-in gasket provides a seal against the box edge.

Why does the plate have an earth terminal?

The earth terminal allows continuation of earth bonding through the blanking plate where Building Regulations or IET Wiring Regulations require it. If the back box contains earthed cables, the terminal ensures the earth conductor remains connected even though no active device is fitted.
