What devices can be plugged into this socket?

The socket is designed for electric shavers and electric toothbrushes only. The 20VA output is insufficient for hairdryers, straighteners or other high-draw appliances. The outlet accepts both 115V and 230V shaver plugs without needing an adapter.

What does IP41 mean for bathroom use?

IP41 provides protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and vertically dripping water. This makes the socket suitable for bathroom zones outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure, typically Zone 2 or Zone 3 in UK bathroom wiring regulations. It is not suitable for direct spray or submersion.

What back box depth is required?
