Description

The Knightsbridge FP2193PB is a 3-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer that controls three separate lighting zones, each handling 10-200W resistive loads or 5-150W LED loads per gang. A polished brass flat plate measures 147.5mm wide and projects just 2.5mm from the wall once fitted. Each gang switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming modes via the front control knob, giving compatibility across most dimmable LED, halogen and incandescent lamp types.

Designed for residential and hospitality installations where three separate lighting zones need independent dimming control from a single wall position, the dimmer fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The 2-way wiring allows the dimmer to be paired with a conventional 2-way switch at a second location, enabling control of the same lighting circuit from two wall positions. Each rotary knob provides push on/off action and continuous dimming rotation, with trim adjustment accessible from the front without removing the plate.

The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The ultra-flat profile sits nearly flush to the wall, unlike standard-projection plates that protrude 8-10mm. Each gang includes overload and overheat protection plus an inrush current limiter to handle the initial power surge when switching on LED and low-voltage halogen circuits. The dimmer is preset in trailing-edge mode on installation and can be switched to leading-edge mode if required for specific lamp compatibility.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?

Trailing-edge mode is preset and works with most dimmable LED bulbs, low-voltage halogen transformers and MLV loads. Leading-edge mode suits older resistive loads like incandescent and mains-voltage halogen. The dimmer ships in trailing-edge mode and can be switched to leading-edge via the front control knob if the lamps flicker or do not dim smoothly.

Can I mix different lamp types or wattages on the same gang?

No. Each gang must control lamps of the same brand, type and wattage. Mixing different lamp types or wattages on a single gang causes uneven dimming, flicker and can trigger overload protection.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The 2.5mm projection from the wall is measured from the front of the back box once the plate is fitted.

How do I adjust the minimum brightness level?

The trim adjustment is accessible from the front via the control knob without removing the plate. This allows you to set the minimum dim level to suit the specific lamps fitted, preventing them from flickering or turning off completely at the lowest dimmer setting.
